ABOUT ME
I grew up in a Japanese immigrant family during the 1970s in San Francisco. Like many Asian immigrant families, education was considered important so I grew up with lots of books. But I ran into major issues during adolescence which I later overcame. Though I loved literature and psychology as a teen, I would go on to a career in business with companies such as KPMG and Microsoft.
Later in life, I left the corporate world to go back to school to become trained as a therapist. It wasn't easy but it's been a transformative adventure. I'm always impressed by how quickly clients trust me with deeply personal issues. One of my favorite things I like to say to clients is how they've helped me to become a better therapist.
